NETGEAR Connects
At NETGEAR, we care. We pride ourselves on coming together as a team to help our community and have fun at the same time. We also encourage team-based health initiatives for our employees.
The ‘Giving Tree’ project, by the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
“As Christmas is the season for giving, in December 2013 the NETGEAR Cork Office felt it would be nice to give something back. The Christmas party committee decided to use the office Christmas Tree in order to build a bit of Christmas goodwill and positivity by supporting the SVP Giving Tree Appeal. The appeal supports providing new gifts for underprivileged children and adults.
The Giving Tree was a perfect way to match gifts to the people we needed to help. By participating in the Giving Tree Appeal we managed to provide gifts for over 43 children of all ages. The appeal was a great success thanks to all of those who got involved.”
The Pedometer Challenge
The Pedometer Challenge is a workplace walking event, open to all NETGEAR Employees in EMEA. It runs a few times per year. The aim is to encourage staff to walk more for health reasons and, if possible, to encourage people to swap short car journeys for walking. To make our challenge exciting we have a team-based challenge and we always pick interesting and fun routes. In 2013 we walked from Cork to New York and on to San Jose and in 2014 we have started a route from San Jose to Saint Petersburg in Russia. It’s a great way to keep fit, be healthy, and it helps us appreciate worldwide geography!
